Can I use #57 gravel for a driveway?

Yes, but it works best as a base or middle layer. For the top surface of a driveway, smaller stone like #8 or #411 limestone compacts more tightly and provides a smoother driving surface.

How much #57 gravel do I need for a French drain?

Calculate the trench length x width x depth in feet, then divide by 27 for cubic yards. A typical French drain uses a 12 inch wide by 18 inch deep trench.
