Matt brings more than three decades of experience in the industry and nearly 15 years of dedicated leadership at Kurtz Bros., Inc.
Matt succeeds Rick Costello, who has played an integral role in the company’s success during his tenure as President. Rick is stepping into a new opportunity as President of MKB Company, and Kurtz Bros., Inc. wishes him the very best in his ventures ahead.
Currently serving as Vice President of Operations, Matt has been instrumental in driving operational excellence across key areas, including Sales, Marketing, and Production. His proven leadership, strategic vision, and passion for the green industry mark him as a natural fit to continue the company’s rich legacy of innovation, quality, and sustainable growth.

Matt’s roots in the green industry run deep, starting at his family-owned garden center, where he gained invaluable experience working alongside his father. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo and balances his expertise with a commitment to giving back through leadership roles in professional and community organizations. He serves as the incoming Treasurer for the Ohio Landscape Association, sits on the board for the Ohio Contractors Association, and also lends his expertise as a board member for the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation.
Now, as part of the fourth generation of the Kurtz family at the helm, Matt’s vision is to uphold the company’s legacy while forging new paths for growth and innovation. “It’s an honor to continue building on what John, Rick, and the generations before me have established.
